This dual-plate check valve represents the most modern and efficient solution for backflow prevention in flanged pipe systems. Its main advantage is its "wafer" design, a very compact and lightweight body that is installed directly sandwiched between two pipe flanges, saving a significant amount of space and greatly simplifying assembly.
The mechanism consists of two semicircular plates (or flaps) that open under fluid pressure. When the flow stops, the stainless steel springs force almost instantaneous closure, before the fluid can gather speed in the reverse direction. This rapid closing action drastically reduces the effect of water hammer, protecting the rest of the installation from pressure surges.
With all its internal components (plates, shafts and springs) manufactured in high-quality stainless steel, this valve guarantees exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
