The Barcelona-model surface box is a cast iron access box placed over the extension spindle of buried gate valves, allowing the valve to be opened and closed from pavement level with an operating key.
Its all-cast-iron construction guarantees resistance to traffic and weather, and its format meets the usual specification of the water utilities in the Barcelona area.
It forms part of the Grupo Almagromur range of surface boxes alongside the GA, Almería and Zaragoza models.
