Saving water with Almagromur products

In Spain, a significant share of the water flowing through irrigation and supply networks is lost to leaks. Every weeping joint, every pipe that shifts under pressure and every makeshift repair are litres that never reach the crop or the tap. Our way of looking after water is to manufacture parts that seal properly and keep on sealing decades later.

Couplings that do not move

The primary source of leaks in PVC and HDPE networks is axial movement: the pipe "pulls out" of the joint when the pressure rises. Our anti-pull fittings lock the pipe with a toothed brass ring and seal with an EPDM gasket, so the joint withstands the pressure of the irrigation season without concrete thrust blocks.

Valves that really close

A resilient-seated gate valve (wedge vulcanised in EPDM) seals without dripping even when there are small particles in the water, and its full straight bore does not trap sediment. Manufactured in GGG-50 ductile iron with a 250 µm epoxy coating, they are designed to stay buried for the entire service life of the network.

Repairing without cutting off the supply

Repair collars and repair clamps allow you to deal with a leak without draining the network or interrupting service. They close over the damaged pipe, seal immediately and prevent a minor fault from turning into days of losses.

Watertight under-pressure tappings

With tapping saddles, branch connections are made on live pipelines cleanly and watertight, avoiding the improvised connections that end up dripping later on.

Built to last

The whole process, from design to after-sales service, is under our control and certified to UNE-EN-ISO 9001 and 14001. A part that does not need replacing after a few years also saves water, energy and construction work.
